The Journal of the Physics Society of Japan (JPSJ) is the English language
journal published by the Physical Society of Japan. Started in 1946, it
has come to be regarded highly as a world class academic journal in the
field of physics. The JPSJ is edited by the JPS's JPSJ editorial board,
and published through the IPAP , a body jointly managed by the JPS and
the Japan Society of Applied Physics(JSAP).
In recent years, JPSJ publishes some 600 articles in a year,
their pages totaling as many as 36,000. Most of these are utilized
in their digital format. Monthly downloading of JPSJ articles
have come to exceed 10,000.
The impact factor (IF) is a measurement, provided by the press agency Thomson
Reuters, of the quality of academic journals. The IF made public June 2008
for JPSJ was 2.212, a further improvement from the previous year. * JPSJ Papers of Editors' Choice
