About Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation (possible Japanese-German workshops)

The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation is Germany's most important private institution funding physics. As part of its support for the scientific exchange of ideas, the Foundation has been organizing and financing workshops („WE-Heraeus seminars") for more than 50 years. The aim of the so called binational seminars is in particular to strengthen existing cooperation between a partner country like Japan and Germany or to initiate new ones. This program is open to all scientists, and all countries can be considered as partner countries. An application must be submitted by at least one physicist from Germany and the partner country. The seminars can take place in the partner country or in Germany and last typically up to 5 days. An application has to be submitted to the board meetings which take place twice a year. The deadline for the next meeting is end of February.
